The goal of making a perfect home is a substantial fraction of a person’s mind. You do not have to double your mortgage by finding a new house and creating that dream. You just have to envision your ideal aesthetic and carefully plan your design based on values and historical grounds, whether it’s Victorian, English Tudor, or Chinese Oriental.

Renovation is the mode of improving a structure. It can either be for residential or a commercial uses. Home renovations are quite famous in aesthetic trends today. It is all about accents. It is articulating your home’s story, the history and its current richness. Wood features are fundamental in emphasizing your home’s architecture. It has never gone out of style and it has not returned, instead it has always been here.

Wood is flexible and a durable material foremost. It is frequently utilized to emphasize the home’s architecture and focal points.

For good renovations, HomeDesign.com had gotten ideas to facilitate dilemmas on where to begin.

First is never forgetting vital locations in the house that can heighten its design with wood. The windows are the focal points of a house. Despite its key design, a real wood window would add on lasting appeal to a home. The front door labels the quality of the house. Pick Out one that would reflect the architectural design. A stained glass effect on the center of a detailed carved wood would signify a Victorian aura. In renovation, molding can generate rooms with a finished appearance with a unique mix of exclusivity may it be contemporary or old world. Hardwood flooring would finish the touch as it can anchor the design of the room. It is very simple to maintain with the look of casual as it can be Mediterranean or contemporary. Nothing beats wood inspired renovations when it comes to a touch of a vintage charm.

If you are planning to sell your HDB flat and you want to have as many buyers as you can as well as a high selling price, there is one thing you might want to consider, RENOVATION.

To get you started, there are a couple of things you need to think about. First, understand how the sales price work. Of course you will not want to invest so much on renovation and end up loosing in the end. Try to research how much a renovated house can sell in the market.

Think like a buyer. And what exactly do buyers do? When they go to your house they step inside and look around. Steve Berges author of the book called “101 Cost Effective Ways to Increase the Value of Your Home” formulated guidelines that will leave a very good impression for home buyers once they step in to your place, these includes the following:

1. Spend money on what can be seen vs. what can’t be seen. Depending at your budget, Berger mentioned that you put a higher priority on improvements that can be easily seen because those will you give the best return of investment.

2. Repair up the exterior first, then the interior. Ugly exterior can cause potential buyers to drive away without going inside the house, you should work on those first.

3. Clear up any trash and make sure your HDB flat is clean and good smelling. This is a very simple thing to do. You dont have to invest so much money on this one, but if you neglected it, you can loose potential buyers as well as good deals.

For best results, Berges recommends that you seek the advice of real estate agents who are familiar how the HDB market in Singapore works and who has a very good idea on the optimal renovations that gives the best impact.

There are many things you can do to spice up the look of your room without having to spend much. Just be fearless in experimenting with different colors and sheets and soon enough, you will find the style that suits you best.

Comfortable Bed
Make sure that the bed you will buy is the right size for you. Look for full size bed measurements on the web and plan the lay out of your room well. Leave enough space for other pieces of furniture and, of course, space to move around.

The Bed
The bed is perhaps the most important. Go for a king size bed if the size of your room will allow it. That will give you plenty of space to move around. You will find full size bed measurements in the web so you can make an approximation when you are planning your room.

The Paint
I suggest you go for warm neutral colors when you are painting the walls of your room. This will allow you to be flexible in the color of sheets and other pieces of furniture. I am guessing you don’t want to confine yourself to one design. I am sure you want some sort of flexibility. Neutral colors will allow you to do that.

Quality Sheets
Make it a point to buy only the highest quality cotton sheets you can afford. Remember that this is where you lay your body for a good night rest. There is nothing more rewarding but a real nice sheet when you rest at night. Buy several kinds in solid colors or with prints. You will most likely want to change it often both for hygiene and for aesthetics. Be ready with the different moods you might get into.

Organize
This is often ignored in many rooms. Make sure to keep out of sight everything that is not necessary to be seen. The key to looking neat is to put away everything that does not need to be seen.

Uniformly bright need to be noteworthy so the circulation in this room going safe.

The dining room has a different impression to everyone. Any impression you want to display, the dining room must be made comfortable and also tempting to eat. Additional other decorative elements will be a plus for the space. One important element is the soft lighting. These elements can give the impression of warm and intimate atmosphere.

Candles can be used as decorative elements are functional in the dining room. Soft candlelight impress warm and romantic. Not only that, the candles also keep food on the table away from the insects. Beautiful candles can be used as Centerpiece. Usually the candle is placed in a glass or pretty ceramic containers as a companion for fruit or flower arrangements at the dinner table.

The main lighting in the dining room could use some pendant lights that are placed lower than adult height. The use of three to five lights and shadows to create can unique effect on the surrounding. If possible, use dimmers will also be very helpful. Dimmers can determine the appropriate power of light to create the appropriate atmosphere of hope.
On the sides of the dining room can be added with additional hidden halogen lamps. Clean white light that bounces on that area will add a dramatic impression.

On the daylight, the dining room should be exposed to light. So, the more exposure the better the effect on the dining room. Even the half-open spaces and areas directly related to the back or side of the house would be very good and interesting. At night, the light coming from the park will add a romantic impression.

The trick is to enter a park-like atmosphere of trees, leaves, flowers, ponds, waterfalls, and fountains, to the house. Here are 4 ways you can apply at home.

Plants enter into the House
Lift the pot plants from outside into the house. Because it will be placed in the house, should select plants that do not require too much light. Notice also pot; if dirty clean up first. If less attractive pot, place the pot in another pot a better / cleaner. In addition to potted plants, you can also refresh space by installing a series of cut flowers. The second way is the simplest steps and fast to create a fresh atmosphere in the interior of the house.

Installing the Wide Aperture
Exposure of the wide glass windows can help to create a freshness in the house. Through the glass windows, the atmosphere outside the green garden can be seen from the inside. This second way can only be enjoyed visually because physically constrained by the glass. The surplus lies in the ease of treatment because only one object, namely the park. However, from this park you can get 2 different view, namely that the park can be enjoyed from the outside and inside the house.

Creating Park Interior
In the limited size of the house, usually there is no remaining open land in addition to the front porch. Houses like this have constraints in pengudaraan, the temperature inside gets hot. To overcome this, many architects who create voids in the center / back of the house so that air can flow. Well, this is an open space used for the usual interior garden. Difficult not to care, mainly interior garden park is dominated by dry-stone and plants that do not require much water.

Creating Waterfall
Water that flows with the sound of water splashing in the house no less delicious with green plants or flowers are colorful. The flow of water that falls into the pool have a unique sound character, leading to a different atmosphere and the potential to calm the mind.

Pond design can vary depending on the style of your home and taste. Noteworthy is the installation of water lines, electricity, and pump. The installation must be true that not happen seeped or other problems arise. Add ornamental plants and lamps to enhance your appearance.

“Family room is an informal living room that is usually placed near the kitchen. Various family activities can be accommodated there, such as watching TV, chatting, eating, and relaxing. Often, the family room has a relationship with external spaces such as parks or terrace. “This definition is listed in Wikipedia.

The first sentence of the definition was confirmed that the family room is a room that appears to be informal, not rigid, and seemed relaxed. According to an interior designer, living room can be made more formal but still able to accommodate family activities.

Formal impression on the family room, can be created from the furniture, as an example the case here. Framework, arms, and back of the sofa is made of wood with clear lines. Timber dominance on the couch was able to make it look stiff. Therefore, to give the impression relaxed, the designers chose an all-lined sofa upholstery of soft material.

Behind rigid impression, there are advantages of using wood furniture. Wood looks natural but thin malleable, so the furniture looks sleek, lightweight, and does not make room feel full.

Complete and Convenient
This family room is usually used to talk, read, and enjoy afternoon tea. TV viewing activities can also be done if the space above the TV is not used.

The designers try to accommodate all these activities, certainly with a fixed priority to comfort. A little formal does not mean not comfortable. For activities such as chatting, sofas placed at a distance that is not too far so that the sound could be heard issued by the speaker. The user can remain seated quietly, and not have to promote the body while chatting. The distance is not too far away it can also lead to a stronger interaction among family members.

Another example is the height and width of the couch. Seat sofa is made wider, and legs are made shorter than regular sofas. By this way people could sit more relaxed and comfortable. Can be extended foot forward or at the top of the table.

Capturing the View
Christopher Alexander (in his book The Timeless Way of Building) writes, in the family room or living room, there are 2 things that make people stay in place. The first is the light. Basically, humans have the desire and tendency to move toward the light (photoprenic). This was proven when in human darkness will try to make the environment light.

The second was that he sat in a comfortable place. Well, if these two things happen, guaranteed he would be very comfortable in the living room and reluctantly moved away.
